“…And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”…” – ESV / Commentary

“…And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not. And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that ‘man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every wordthat comes from the mouth of the Lord’….” – ESV / Commentary
This Same scripture was quoted by Jesus Christ when he was being tempted by the Devil in the wilderness. Christ had not eaten for, guess….??? That’s right 40 days! Symbolic to the 40 years in which our ancestors spent lost in the wilderness, as God continued to provide for them what the needed when they needed it. This event was recorded by both Matthew and Dr. Luke in chapter 4 of both of their Gospels, coincidence right? For both accounts click here.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it….” – ESV / Commentary
“Blessed is the man, who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers….” – ESV / Commentary
