Mark 4:37- 40 – Ye Of Little Faith

Deuteronomy 8:2-3 – Soul Food

“…And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.  And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that ‘man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every wordthat comes from the mouth of the Lord’….” – ESV / Commentary

This Same scripture was quoted by Jesus Christ when he was being tempted by the Devil in the wilderness. Christ had not eaten for, guess….??? That’s right 40 days! Symbolic to the 40 years in which our ancestors spent lost in the wilderness, as God continued to provide for them what the needed when they needed it. This event was recorded by both Matthew and Dr. Luke in chapter 4 of both of their Gospels, coincidence right? For both accounts click here.
