Well here is the story…” Then it all came back to me like it was yesterday. I had recorded it at my brother’s house on his piano in the living room. He had a book he was reading at the time called “The Patriots’ Handbook” written by a friend of ours Doctor Grant. The book has a lot of really cool stories about different Godly men and women in American History. I came across a chapter about the Great Awakening revival in the 1700’s. In the chapter they talked about George Whitfield and Jonathan Edwards, the two preachers of this revival. Then right there in the middle of the chapter was a poem about the Great Awakening by Lawrence Tribble, written in the 1700’s. The words just jumped off the page to me. So I immediately ran to the piano and the melody just fell out. It probably was one of the easiest melodies that I’ve ever written. The lyrics were so good that they just inspired a great melody that quickly! It was cool. I jumped up, ran into the studio, sang the idea for everyone and they loved it…” – Leeland

God’s grace and mercies are so abundant and they are renewed to us every morning, and Lord knows i need it…. Do You? For most, the answer is yes. But if your answer is no, maybe you might want to join our study A Beautiful Exchange on the meaning of Christ and His great sacrifice. Next portion in Hebrews we will be expounding on chapter 4 and learning more about the Rest God has for ALL those who chose to be in relationship with Him.

Love the description sung of coming to Christ when we initially accept Him in our hearts… Being lifted from the ashes, from the dust, being born again into something greater and saved from the ashes of death… Then later it’s described as being lifted out of the wreckage, the debris, the mess and chaos of our lives to something that contains greater peace, rest, and joy… “..And in that moment You opened up the heavens; To the broken the beggar and the thief..” Just can’t get enough of this image of how desperate and broken our lives and spirits are and the need for our Savior Christ. Then the final statement of “…Knowing I’m found; In the LIGHT of the aftermath…” how amazing!
